Big names. Big purse. Big energy. The 2025 Turtleback Mountain Golf & Resort New Mexico Open is officially one of the top 10 PGA Section tournaments in the U.S., and it’s all happening right here in Elephant Butte.

With a record-setting purse of over $100,000, Turtleback Mountain Golf & Resort will host this year’s championship and Pro-Am from September 14–17, 2025, drawing elite PGA of America professionals, Korn Ferry Tour stars, collegiate champions, and rising amateurs from across the country. Confirmed competitors include:
- Matt Every – Two-time PGA TOUR winner & co-founder of Live Forever Golf
- AJ Crouch – Korn Ferry Tour pro
- Todd Demsey – NCAA individual champion & PGA TOUR veteran
- 152 top-tier Sun Country PGA professionals This momentous tournament also kicks off a three-year partnership with the Sun Country PGA Section, naming Turtleback the exclusive host and title sponsor through 2027. More Than a Tournament — It’s a Movement “This isn’t just a golf event,” said James Prendamano, CEO of PreReal Investments. “This is a statement. We’re here to raise the bar for the New Mexico Open and for the entire PGA Section system. Turtleback is officially a national golf destination.” Sponsors, Spectators, and Sold-Out Energy With over 20 corporate sponsors (and more on their way), including Live Forever Golf, Fiji Water, Bin Store Brands, Zapps Wholesale, KTSM-TV (NBC), and Executive Golfer Magazine, the 2025 New Mexico Open has shattered records for sponsor engagement. And it’s not just businesses stepping up. The community response has been electric. In just 72 hours, more than 40 volunteer spots were filled, and the waitlist keeps growing. To volunteer Pro-Am: Golf Meets Festival Vibes Taking place Sunday, September 14, the Pro-Am is nearly sold out. But this isn’t your typical Pro-Am. Think festival on the fairway:
- Live music, pop-up bars, and culinary stations on select holes
- Exclusive after-party for players, sponsors, and VIPs
- Fundraiser for the Sun Country Golf Foundation, supporting youth, military, and inclusion programs through golf

Streaming, Socials & Spectator Buzz
For the first time, the entire tournament will stream live on Facebook and other social channels and news media apps, including live commentary from Matt Every and the team behind the “Straight Down the Middle” golf podcast.
A massive 17′ x 12′ video wall at the clubhouse will broadcast all the action, from live scores and player interviews to behind-the-scenes features on the resort and the surrounding Sierra County region.
“This is what golf should feel like,” said Dan Fletcher, CMO of Turtleback. “It’s competition, connection, and culture—all in one unforgettable weekend.”

Recognized by the State of New Mexico
Earlier this year, March 25 was officially declared Turtleback Mountain Golf & Resort Day by the Governor, the Sierra County Commission Chairman, and the Mayor of Elephant Butte. It’s a powerful recognition of Turtleback’s growing role in the state’s economic, cultural, and recreational future.
